'We need to be vivid' - Birkenhead's culture bid gathers pace

BIRKENHEAD is set for a winter of cultural activity and events as campaigners hope to secure Town of Culture status. Birkenhead has reached the 15 name shortlist for the inaugural competition after beating around 400 towns from across the UK who put their hats in the ring.
